Products
A brittle, silvery semi-metal traded chiefly as the metal and as antimony trioxide. Its role in industry is functional rather than structural: it hardens lead, and as the trioxide it is the standard synergist that makes halogenated flame retardants work.
Refined lead alloyed to specification, antimonial and calcium-tin grades most of all. Alloying controls hardness, castability and corrosion so the metal performs in the grid, the sheath or the shield rather than as soft pure lead.
Copper combined with tin, zinc, nickel or aluminium to trade conductivity for strength, wear resistance or brazeability. Supplied as bronzes, brasses and filler alloys where a joint or a bearing surface has to outlast the base metal.
High-performance alloyed and specialty steels formulated with nickel, chromium, niobium and tin for demanding structural, wear and corrosion-resistant industrial applications.
